Today…..
I’ve done the leukaemia bikeathon, solo ride. Took me 4hrs 30mins doing 52 miles with 3 breaks. Took one turning wrong, had burrito on my mind half the time, spoke to some random people on bikes. But all in all I had a blast! Oh plus feels good doing 62 miles and eating free banana’s. But it’s not too late to donate so please if you can support my ride for this charity, please and thank you.
So This Happened
A few days ago I’ve blogged about some picnic ride we did and heres what went on.
Screening
Last night I went to watch Bicycle the film at Barbican cinema directed by Michael B.Clifford and he’s a keen cyclist. It was a sold out screening, but I don’t want to give much away as I want you to go and watch it for yourself or buy it on DVD. But there’s a few stories in the film that portrays different routes about bikes and how important it is for them in their daily life. The film explains the history of bikes and how it has changed over the years to improve itself such as the aerodynamics and the materials of the bikes.
In the documentary we follow Dannielle Khan on her daily training on the bike and how she wins in the velodrome race. Then we meet Mike Burrows on how he designed the winning bike for Chris Boardman and also built he fastest bike of the time, in the velodrome. There’s also how bike paths was made and where it is now, like I said I won’t say any more. But please check the film when it’s back on the big screen in some
Cinemas in London, more info HERE.
You can pre order the DVD on their website to.
A great film done by Blue hippo media and thank you Nina for letting me be part of it too!
Copenhagen bike messengers
Signe of Woco Film sent over this video and it’s really nice, worth a watch. The video follows two Copenhagen bike messengers Fergie and Jumbo, talks a little about how bicycles and messengering have influenced and shaped their lives, and about the extended international community brought together through events like the cycle messenger world championships
Sunday Picnic
We needed to take advantage of this weather today, so we got our bikes and went north to have a nice picnic. Never went to north of Lee valley national park, so we all headed in that direction. By stopping near the place to top up on our food, we kinda got carried away with food. We had way too much. We tired to eat as much as we can to make our bags lighter.
Some of the guys went to sleep right after eating, was it the heat or was it too much food?
After all that eating and laying down on the grass, we went back down south of Lee valley park towards the velo park, by taking the canal route, which was a bit of a tight squeeze for all of us, some parts wasn’t even that fun! At some point I felt I was going to fall into the water.
Along the way there we bump into mark and James from kinoko on their off road bikes.
Getting into the velo , we had to pay a visit at the road track and have a go. Think everyone had a good time riding and eating that day. Please keep your eyes open for some more rides!
